The electronics handwheel is a special incremental hand-controlled encoder.
It is used as an auxiliary control for hand positionning on machine tools.
The handwheel outputs are two square waves, 90 degrees apart from each
other, for up/down counting.
Each rotation of the handwheels (360°) generates
100 pulses on the standard unit and the clutched option produces 1÷2500 pulses.
The knob has a "detent" position for each division to avoid
unwanted movements due to vibrations. A large graduated knob,
with knurled handgrip plus a pallet for quick rotation, eases the position
setting, both in step-by-step and multiple movements.
